Search for a print shop in Dublin and you will find everything from high-street copy counters to large commercial printers running presses overnight. Which one you need depends entirely on the job. If the job is documents — notes, reports, theses, forms, CVs, manuals, handouts — there is a third kind of print shop worth knowing about: one that lives online and brings the printing to you.
Three kinds of print shop
- High-street copy and print shops. Walk in with a file or a paper original, get copies while you wait, and access to extras such as binding, laminating and larger paper sizes. Best for urgent one-offs and finishing work.
- Commercial and design printers. Business cards, flyers, brochures, signage, large runs on special stock. Best for marketing material where design and finish matter more than speed.
- Online document printers. You upload PDFs, choose the options, pay online and receive the printed documents at home or at the office. Best for everyday documents in any quantity, without travelling.
What an online print shop does well
At Online Printing Dublin we focus on one thing: A4 and A5 document printing, posted anywhere in Ireland. For every file you choose:
- Paper: draft 70g (black & white only, the cheapest), standard 80g or premium 100g.
- Black & white or full colour, single or double-sided, and the number of copies.
The price is calculated instantly from your files before you pay — from €0.10 per double-sided draft sheet, with a €2.95 minimum printing order and a €2.95 management fee — and you choose the delivery: An Post Standard from €1.95, free when your printing comes to €30 or more, or tracked Express or Registered post. Everything is on our printing services page, including the full price list.
Because there is no counter, there is also no queue and no closing time: you can order at midnight on a Sunday and the order is waiting for us in the morning. And because we print directly from your PDF, what arrives looks exactly like what you saw on screen.
What we do not do (and who to ask instead)
We would rather be clear than disappoint you. We do not print business cards, flyers, posters, canvas or photos, we do not offer laminating or hardcover binding, we print on A4 and A5 only, and we do not do same-day orders. For those jobs a high-street print shop or a commercial printer is the right call — but documents that need spiral binding we bind for you (from €1.50 a book), as our guide to printing booklets and manuals explains.
Who uses an online print shop in Dublin
- Students printing notes, reading packs and theses — see cheap student printing.
- Small businesses and offices without a copier worth the name — see business document printing.
- Anyone with paperwork: immigration forms, Revenue letters, tenancy documents — see printing official documents.
- People outside Dublin who need documents printed and posted — see delivery across Ireland.
How to choose
Ask three questions: Is it a document or a design piece? Do I need it in the next hour? Does it need finishing such as laminating? A document that can wait a day or two, loose or spiral bound, is exactly what an online print shop is for. Anything else, walk into a print shop near you.
If it is a document, try the online route: upload your PDF and see your price — no account needed, and you only pay if you order.
