By the time the mocks come round, most Leaving Cert students have notes everywhere: slides from teachers, typed summaries, essay plans, mind maps and forty browser tabs. Revision gets a lot easier when each subject lives in one book you can open on the desk. Here's a simple way to turn your PDFs into spiral-bound study books, one per subject, posted to your door anywhere in Ireland.
One book per subject
When you order, the Bind your documents step lets you create as many books as you need and decide which PDFs go in each one, in order. A typical setup:
- Biology: your summary notes, then the diagrams, then your exam-question practice.
- English: poetry notes, comparative study plans and your sample essays.
- Irish or a modern language: vocabulary lists, oral preparation and essay phrases.
Give each book a name as you go so you can keep track of them, and make the first page of each book a simple title page — it shows through the transparent front cover, so you can grab the right subject at a glance.
Colour-code your subjects
Covers come in transparent, black, white, blue and red plastic, and you choose the front and back of each book separately. Keep a transparent front and colour-code the backs — blue for the sciences, red for languages, black for maths — and your shelf becomes a revision timetable you can read from across the room.
Cut the cost with the right paper
- Draft 70g, black & white is ideal for big revision packs you'll scribble all over: from €0.10 per double-sided sheet.
- Standard 80g in colour is worth it where colour carries meaning — biology diagrams, geography maps, art history images.
- Double-sided halves the sheets, the thickness and the price of each book.
- A5 makes compact, pocket-sized books for formulas, quotes and vocabulary to look over on the bus. A5 and A4 can't share a book, so give the small ones books of their own.
Different papers and colour can go in the same A4 book, so the colour diagrams can sit right after the black & white notes they belong to.
How thick can a subject book be?
Each book takes up to 210 sheets of 80g paper — up to 420 pages double-sided, which covers almost any subject. If one subject runs longer, use Split by pages on that PDF and spread it across two books, such as "Paper 1" and "Paper 2". Binding costs from €1.50 a book depending on thickness; our spiral binding guide has the full price table.
Why spiral binding works for revision
- It lies flat beside your copy while you write out answers.
- It folds back on itself, so it takes up half the desk space.
- Pages stay in order — no loose sheets sliding out of a folder the night before an exam.
What you can print
Print your own notes and summaries, and any study material you're entitled to print. We can't reproduce complete textbooks or published revision books — our terms explain why.
Order before you need it
We print, bind and post your order the next working day, and An Post usually delivers the working day after. Order a few days ahead of the mocks or a study weekend and they'll be waiting for you. Delivery is free once your printing plus binding comes to €30 or more — easy to reach with a book for every subject.
Parents can place the order and have the books sent to any address in Ireland. When the notes are ready, upload the PDFs and build your books. Heading to college next? Our guide to printing lecture notes has more tips.
