Choose colour, paper and sides

For most theses and dissertations, black & white on 80g paper, double-sided is the standard choice — it's the most affordable and meets the requirements of most Irish universities. If your work includes charts, graphs, images or maps, you can switch specific files to full colour, and choose heavier 100g paper for a more premium feel on the cover pages or the whole document.

Double-sided (duplex) printing roughly halves the number of sheets, so it's cheaper and lighter to handle — handy for a 200-page dissertation.

How many copies do you need?

Check your department's submission guidelines first. A common setup is:

  • One or two copies for official submission
  • One personal copy to keep or to review before binding
  • Extra copies for your supervisor if requested

  • Export to PDF from Word, Google Docs or LaTeX — we print PDF files only (up to 20 MB each, up to 30 files per order).
  • Check your margins — leave enough space on the binding edge if you plan to bind it later.
  • Embed your fonts when exporting, so special characters and equations print exactly as you see them.
